Responsibility
- Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection with precision and adherence to safety protocols.
- Verify patient identity and maintain accurate records of all specimens collected.
- Label, store, and transport blood samples according to laboratory standards.
- Ensure a sterile and comfortable environment for patients during blood collection procedures.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of phlebotomy supplies, reporting shortages as needed.
- Educate patients on pre- and post-procedure care to minimize discomfort and complications.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure timely processing of specimens.
- Adhere to HIPAA and local healthcare regulations to protect patient confidentiality.
Qualifications
- Certification as a Phlebotomist (e.g., CPT, RPT) from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in phlebotomy, preferably in a clinical or diagnostic setting.
- Proven ability to perform venipuncture on patients of all ages with minimal discomfort.
- Strong knowledge of infection control, safety protocols, and medical terminology.
- Excellent interpersonal skills to interact compassionately with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Basic computer skills for electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
