Responsibility
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and ultrasonic cleaners, to ensure proper functioning and compliance with safety standards.
- Perform decontamination, cleaning, and disinfection of medical instruments and equipment according to established protocols.
- Inspect, assemble, and package medical instruments and supplies for sterilization, ensuring all items are properly prepared and labeled.
- Monitor and document sterilization processes, including biological and chemical indicators, to verify effectiveness and maintain records.
- Maintain inventory of sterile supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and reporting any shortages or issues.
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to minimize the risk of contamination and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with operating room staff, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure timely and accurate delivery of sterile instruments and supplies.
- Participate in training and continuing education programs to stay updated on best practices and advancements in sterile processing techniques.
Qualifications
- Diploma (D3) or Bachelor's degree (S1) in Nursing or a related healthcare field.
- Previous experience in a Central Sterile Services Department (CSSD) or similar role is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of decontamination, cleaning, packaging, and sterilization processes.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sterility.
- Willingness to work in shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
