Responsibility
- Handle cash, credit, and mobile payment transactions accurately and efficiently using the POS system.
- Greet customers warmly, answer inquiries, and ensure a positive overall shopping experience.
- Scan items, verify pricing, apply discounts, and issue accurate receipts and change.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe checkout counter and storefront area.
- Balance the cash drawer at the start and end of each shift, documenting any discrepancies.
- Assist in restocking shelves, labeling products, and maintaining general store merchandising.
- Address and resolve basic customer complaints or escalate them to shift supervisors when necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or college-level education is a plus.
- Prior experience as a cashier, retail associate, or customer service representative is preferred but not required.
- Strong basic mathematical and analytical skills for processing transactions.
- Familiarity with electronic point-of-sale (POS) equipment and cash registers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Willingness to work flexible schedules, including weekends, holidays, and evening shifts.
