Responsibility
- Process and validate hydrographic survey data using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, QPS Qimera, Hypack) to ensure accuracy and consistency.
- Convert raw survey data into standardized formats for analysis and reporting, adhering to industry best practices.
- Collaborate with hydrographic surveyors and marine engineers to interpret data and resolve discrepancies.
- Generate detailed nautical charts, bathymetric maps, and other hydrographic deliverables for clients and internal teams.
- Perform quality control checks on processed data to identify and correct errors or anomalies.
- Maintain organized databases of hydrographic data, ensuring easy retrieval and compliance with data management protocols.
- Assist in the development of automated workflows for data processing to improve efficiency and reduce manual errors.
- Stay updated on the latest advancements in hydrographic technology and CAD software to enhance data processing capabilities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Hydrography, Geomatics, Marine Science, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience (2+ years) in hydrographic data processing or a similar role, with proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, QPS Qimera, Hypack).
- Strong understanding of hydrographic survey principles, including bathymetry, side-scan sonar, and multibeam echosounder data.
- Familiarity with data processing standards such as S-57, S-100, or IHO specifications is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while collaborating effectively with a global team.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Experience with GIS software (e.g., ArcGIS, QGIS) or programming languages (e.g., Python, MATLAB) is advantageous.
