Responsibility
- Develop and execute strategic business plans to expand the company’s footprint in the ship trading and maritime logistics market.
- Identify and engage with potential clients, including shipping companies, brokers, and vessel owners, to secure new contracts.
- Negotiate and close high-value deals for the purchase, sale, or chartering of commercial vessels.
- Conduct market research to analyze industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in global shipping.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including port authorities, freight forwarders, and industry associations.
- Prepare and present comprehensive business proposals, financial models, and risk assessments to senior management.
- Collaborate with internal teams (legal, finance, operations) to ensure seamless execution of trading agreements.
- Monitor and report on sales performance, pipeline growth, and revenue targets to drive data-informed decision-making.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Maritime Studies, International Trade, or a related field. MBA or relevant certifications (e.g., ISM, ICS) are a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in business development, sales, or trading within the shipping, logistics, or maritime industry.
- Proven track record of closing high-value deals in vessel sales, chartering, or freight services.
- Strong understanding of global shipping markets, vessel types, and maritime regulations.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills to engage with diverse stakeholders.
- Proficiency in English (written and verbal); additional languages (e.g., Mandarin, Arabic) are advantageous.
- Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret market data, financial reports, and contract terms.
- Willingness to travel internationally for client meetings, industry conferences, and vessel inspections.
