Responsibility
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on buses, including engine, transmission, braking, and electrical systems.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using diagnostic tools and manual inspections.
- Conduct thorough inspections to ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards.
- Repair or replace defective parts, components, and systems to restore optimal vehicle performance.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work in digital or physical logs.
- Collaborate with team members to prioritize tasks and meet operational deadlines.
- Test-drive buses post-repair to verify functionality and safety.
- Stay updated on the latest bus engineering technologies and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a bus mechanic, heavy vehicle technician, or automotive engineer.
- Certification in automotive or diesel mechanics (e.g., NVQ, ASE, or equivalent).
- Proficient in using diagnostic tools (e.g., OBD-II scanners, multimeters) and workshop equipment.
- Strong knowledge of bus systems, including engines, transmissions, suspension, and electrical circuits.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Physical stamina to lift heavy components and work in various positions (e.g., bending, kneeling).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license (preferably with a heavy vehicle endorsement).
