The Municipal Government of Balabagan is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Building Inspector to join our local engineering department. Responsibility
- Conduct regular inspections of construction sites to ensure compliance with approved plans and local building codes.
- Review architectural, structural, and electrical plans to verify adherence to safety standards before permit issuance.
- Issue notices of violation and follow up on corrective actions for non-compliant structures.
- Prepare accurate inspection reports and maintain detailed records of all field activities and findings.
- Coordinate with the Municipal Engineer to address complex construction issues or structural concerns.
- Provide technical guidance to stakeholders regarding building requirements and regulatory processes.
- Participate in the evaluation of applications for building permits and occupancy certificates.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field.
- Valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License preferred.
- Strong knowledge of the National Building Code of the Philippines and relevant local ordinances.
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction blueprints and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for technical reporting and stakeholder interaction.
- Physically fit to perform site inspections in various weather conditions and terrain.
- High level of integrity and professional ethics in regulatory enforcement.
