As a Building Engineer, you will oversee the maintenance, optimization, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems to ensure seamless operations. Responsibility
- Oversee the operation, maintenance, and repair of building mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems, including HVAC, fire protection, and life safety systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance to ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and implement energy-efficient strategies to reduce operational costs and environmental impact.
- Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to execute capital improvement projects and system upgrades.
- Monitor building automation systems (BAS) and troubleshoot technical issues to minimize downtime.
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, forecasts, and reports for senior management review.
- Ensure adherence to local building codes, industry standards, and company policies.
- Provide technical guidance and training to facility staff and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field. Professional engineering license is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in building engineering, facility management, or a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical distributions, plumbing, and building automation systems (BAS).
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairs.
- Proficiency in CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and leadership skills to manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
- Familiarity with sustainability practices, LEED certification, or green building standards is advantageous.
