Responsibility
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including materials, labor, and equipment.
- Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to determine project requirements.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure accurate and competitive bidding.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and recommend value-engineering solutions without compromising quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction costs, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain a database of cost information for future reference and benchmarking.
- Present estimates and proposals to clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Monitor project progress and adjust estimates as needed to reflect changes in scope or conditions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Construction Estimator or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar tools).
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines.
