Responsibility
- Perform DEXA scans and bone mineral density tests with precision, adhering to local and international standards (e.g., ISCD guidelines).
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, explaining the process clearly and addressing any concerns.
- Calibrate and maintain densitometry equipment to guarantee accuracy and reliability of results.
- Analyze scan results and prepare detailed reports for physicians, highlighting key findings and potential areas of concern.
- Collaborate with radiologists, endocrinologists, and other specialists to support comprehensive patient care.
- Maintain meticulous records of all procedures, patient data, and equipment maintenance logs.
- Stay updated on advancements in bone densitometry technology and best practices through continuous education.
- Uphold strict HIPAA and patient confidentiality protocols in all aspects of the role.
Qualifications
- Certification in Bone Densitometry (e.g., ISCD CCD or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bone Densitometry Technologist or in a related medical imaging role.
- Proficiency in operating DEXA machines (e.g., Hologic, GE Lunar) and interpreting scan data.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and osteoporosis risk factors.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
- Attention to detail and commitment to delivering error-free, high-quality diagnostic results.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure and professionalism.
- Basic computer skills for data entry, reporting, and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
