Responsibility

  • Perform DEXA scans and bone mineral density tests with precision, adhering to local and international standards (e.g., ISCD guidelines).
  • Ensure patient safety and comfort during procedures, explaining the process clearly and addressing any concerns.
  • Calibrate and maintain densitometry equipment to guarantee accuracy and reliability of results.
  • Analyze scan results and prepare detailed reports for physicians, highlighting key findings and potential areas of concern.
  • Collaborate with radiologists, endocrinologists, and other specialists to support comprehensive patient care.
  • Maintain meticulous records of all procedures, patient data, and equipment maintenance logs.
  • Stay updated on advancements in bone densitometry technology and best practices through continuous education.
  • Uphold strict HIPAA and patient confidentiality protocols in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Bone Densitometry (e.g., ISCD CCD or equivalent) is highly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Bone Densitometry Technologist or in a related medical imaging role.
  • Proficiency in operating DEXA machines (e.g., Hologic, GE Lunar) and interpreting scan data.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and osteoporosis risk factors.
  • Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal) to interact with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to delivering error-free, high-quality diagnostic results.
