Responsibility
- Perform routine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments to ensure optimal bike performance.
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues such as brake systems, drivetrains, suspension, and wheel truing.
- Assemble new bicycles from boxes, ensuring all components are properly installed and aligned.
- Conduct safety inspections and quality checks on all serviced or repaired bikes before customer pickup.
- Provide expert advice to customers on bike care, upgrades, and suitable accessories.
- Maintain a clean and organized workshop, including tool calibration and inventory management.
- Stay updated on the latest bicycle technologies, tools, and industry trends to deliver top-tier service.
- Collaborate with the team to handle custom builds and specialized projects for high-end or custom bikes.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in bicycle mechanics (Apprentice: basic knowledge; Junior: 1-2 years; Senior: 3+ years).
- Strong understanding of bike anatomy, including frames, gears, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Ability to use hand tools and specialized equipment (e.g., torque wrenches, chain breakers, spoke wrenches).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail for accurate diagnostics.
- Passion for cycling and a commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship.
- Good communication skills to explain technical issues to customers clearly.
- Physical stamina to handle repetitive tasks and lift bikes (up to 20-30 kg).
- Certification from a recognized bicycle mechanics program (preferred but not required).
