In this role, you will play a pivotal part in ensuring smooth financial operations, including month-end close processes, reconciliations, inventory management, Business Activity Statements (BAS), payroll support, and in-depth financial analysis. Responsibility
- Execute month-end close procedures, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with Australian accounting standards.
- Perform bank and general ledger reconciliations to maintain data integrity and identify discrepancies.
- Manage inventory accounting, including cost tracking, valuation, and reporting.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and other statutory requirements for Australian clients.
- Assist with payroll processing, including tax withholdings, superannuation, and employee payments.
- Conduct financial analysis to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic decision-making.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline accounting processes and improve efficiency.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian tax laws, GAAP, and regulatory changes affecting financial operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. CPA or CA qualification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on Australian financial systems and regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks) and advanced Excel skills.
- Strong understanding of Australian tax compliance, including BAS, GST, and payroll tax.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting tight deadlines.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with international teams and clients.
- Experience in a hybrid or remote work environment is highly desirable.
