Responsibility
- Review and analyze patient medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes for diagnoses, procedures, and treatments.
- Ensure compliance with coding guidelines, healthcare regulations, and payer-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and resolve coding discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of medical coding standards, industry updates, and regulatory changes.
- Prepare and submit coded data for billing, reimbursement, and statistical reporting purposes.
- Conduct internal audits to verify coding accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior coding staff to enhance team performance.
- Participate in quality assurance initiatives to optimize coding processes and workflows.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Valid Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) license as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the Philippines.
- Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in inpatient medical coding, with a strong understanding of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding systems.
- Proficient in using medical coding software and electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Excellent analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a deadline-driven environment.
