Responsibility
- Assist the Resident Engineer in overseeing day-to-day construction activities on port and maritime projects, ensuring adherence to design specifications, quality standards, and safety protocols.
- Monitor construction progress, identify potential issues, and propose solutions to keep projects on track and within budget.
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify compliance with engineering drawings, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with contractors, subcontractors, and project stakeholders to facilitate smooth project execution and resolve technical challenges.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on construction progress, site conditions, and any deviations from the project plan.
- Support the implementation of quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) procedures to ensure the integrity and durability of maritime infrastructure.
- Assist in the coordination of material testing, equipment inspections, and compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the preparation of project documentation, including as-built drawings, change orders, and final project reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Resident Engineer or in a similar role, with a strong preference for experience in ports and maritime projects.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Proven track record of successfully managing construction projects, with a focus on quality, safety, and timely delivery.
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials, and industry best practices for maritime infrastructure.
- Familiarity with local and international engineering standards, codes, and regulations related to port and coastal development.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in project management software, AutoCAD, and other relevant engineering tools.
