Responsibility
- Manage and oversee the daily operations of Radiology Information Systems (RIS), PACS, and Image Management Systems to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
- Collaborate with IT and clinical teams to implement system upgrades, integrations, and troubleshooting to enhance workflow efficiency.
- Develop and enforce policies and procedures for data security, privacy, and compliance with HIPAA, DICOM, and HL7 standards.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and recommend solutions to improve image storage, retrieval, and sharing.
- Train and support end-users, including radiologists and technicians, on system functionalities and best practices.
- Coordinate with vendors for system maintenance, software updates, and hardware replacements.
- Analyze user feedback and system metrics to drive continuous improvement in imaging informatics.
- Assist in the evaluation and adoption of emerging technologies, such as AI-driven imaging tools and cloud-based solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, Computer Science, Radiology, or a related field. Master’s degree is a plus.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in managing RIS, PACS, or medical imaging systems in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of DICOM, HL7, and IHE standards for medical imaging interoperability.
- Proven experience in system administration, troubleshooting, and user training for clinical applications.
- Familiarity with data security protocols, HIPAA/GDPR compliance, and healthcare IT governance.
- Excellent communication, project management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Certifications in PACS administration (e.g., PARCA) or healthcare IT (e.g., Epic, Cerner) are highly desirable.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, multicultural environment and adapt to evolving technological needs.
