Responsibility
- Assist the Head Cook and kitchen staff in the daily preparation and cooking of meals for patients, staff, and visitors.
- Follow standardized recipes and portion control guidelines to ensure nutritional accuracy and consistency.
- Ensure that all food preparation areas are kept clean, organized, and strictly compliant with HACCP and hospital sanitation standards.
- Monitor ingredient inventory levels and notify the kitchen supervisor of stock shortages.
- Handle, store, and label all food products appropriately to prevent cross-contamination.
- Participate in periodic deep-cleaning of kitchen equipment and facility surfaces.
- Support the team during high-volume service hours, ensuring timely delivery of meals to patient wards.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent; vocational training in Culinary Arts or Food and Beverage Services is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a commercial kitchen, hospital, or hotel food service setting.
- Strong understanding of food safety protocols and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy kitchen equipment as needed.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, high-pressure environment.
- Willingness to work on shifting schedules, including weekends and holidays.
- Basic knowledge of nutrition and specialized diet requirements is a distinct advantage.
