Responsibility
- Prepare and process geological, mineral, and metal samples for laboratory analysis using standardized procedures.
- Conduct precise chemical and physical testing on samples to determine composition, purity, and quality.
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including spectrophotometers, balances, and furnaces, ensuring calibration and accuracy.
- Document and record test results, maintaining meticulous logs and databases for traceability and compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to interpret data and provide actionable insights for process improvements.
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and quality control standards to ensure a secure and efficient working environment.
- Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies in test results, implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging technologies in assay analysis.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Geology, Metallurgy, or a related scientific field.
- Proven experience (1-3 years) in a laboratory setting, preferably in mineral processing, metallurgy, or analytical chemistry.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory techniques, including wet chemistry, spectroscopy, and sample preparation.
- Proficiency in using laboratory software and data management systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and quality assurance protocols (e.g., ISO standards).
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
