Responsibility
- Manage and reconcile insurance accounting transactions, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Prepare and submit reinsurance reports on time, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
- Maintain and enhance GPW (Gross Premium Written), Cession, and Loss records to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
- Improve financial reporting processes by identifying inefficiencies and implementing best practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet PR (Peer Review) turnaround time (TAT) targets and deadlines.
- Assist in month-end and year-end closing activities, including journal entries, accruals, and reconciliations.
- Support audits by providing documentation and explanations for accounting entries and processes.
- Stay updated on industry trends, accounting standards, and regulatory changes affecting insurance and reinsurance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is a plus.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the insurance or reinsurance sector.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting standards.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with internal and external stakeholders.
- Familiarity with reinsurance accounting principles and reporting requirements is highly desirable.
