Responsibility
- Assist in the operation and maintenance of the vessel's engine room machinery and systems.
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on engines, pumps, and auxiliary equipment.
- Monitor and maintain engine room logs, ensuring accurate record-keeping of operations and maintenance activities.
- Support senior engineers in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards in the engine room.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of dry-docking and major repair projects.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to engineering-related emergencies.
- Maintain inventory of spare parts and tools, ensuring availability for maintenance tasks.
Qualifications
- Valid STCW certification and relevant maritime engineering qualifications.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a 4th Engineer or in a similar role on board vessels.
- Strong technical knowledge of marine engines, auxiliary systems, and electrical equipment.
- Familiarity with international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Physical fitness and the ability to perform manual tasks in a demanding environment.
- Willingness to travel and work on a rotational basis.
