Responsibility
- Lead and supervise a team of 3D printing technicians, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to project timelines.
- Oversee the end-to-end 3D printing process, including design review, material selection, machine calibration, and post-processing.
- Utilize SolidWorks and other CAD software to validate, optimize, and modify 3D models for production.
- Develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) to improve efficiency, safety, and consistency in manufacturing.
- Troubleshoot technical issues with 3D printers, software, or materials and provide effective solutions.
- Collaborate with engineers, designers, and clients to ensure project requirements and specifications are met.
- Monitor inventory of printing materials and equipment, coordinating procurement as needed.
- Train and mentor team members on best practices in 3D printing, SolidWorks, and quality control.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in 3D printing, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks and other CAD/CAM software (e.g., Fusion 360, AutoCAD).
- Hands-on experience with industrial 3D printers (FDM, SLA, SLS, or similar technologies) and post-processing techniques.
- Strong understanding of material science as it relates to additive manufacturing (plastics, metals, composites, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Familiarity with quality control standards (ISO, ASTM) and lean manufacturing principles is a plus.
