Responsibility
- Develop precise 3D models of molds, dies, and tooling components using SolidWorks or equivalent CAD software.
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure designs meet manufacturing feasibility and performance requirements.
- Optimize mold and die designs for cost efficiency, durability, and material usage.
- Create and maintain detailed technical drawings, specifications, and BOMs for production.
- Conduct design reviews and simulations to validate functionality and identify potential improvements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, new materials, and advanced modeling techniques.
- Troubleshoot design issues and propose innovative solutions to enhance product quality.
- Document all design processes and revisions for traceability and compliance.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) in 3D modeling for mold and die design in industrial or manufacturing settings.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks (mandatory) and familiarity with other CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerances, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Ability to interpret engineering blueprints, technical specifications, and client requirements.
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail in high-precision environments.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Portfolio or samples of past mold/die design projects is a plus.
