Responsibility
- Assist the Chief Mate and Captain in the safe navigation and operation of the vessel.
- Oversee cargo operations, ensuring proper stowage and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate navigation charts, logs, and records.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and drills to ensure compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Monitor and maintain the vessel's navigational equipment and systems.
- Assist in the training and supervision of junior crew members.
- Ensure compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
- Participate in emergency response procedures and crisis management.
Qualifications
- Valid 2nd Mate Certificate of Competency (COC).
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a 2nd Mate on a General Cargo Vessel.
- Strong knowledge of international maritime regulations and safety standards.
- Excellent navigation and ship handling skills.
- Proficient in the use of navigational equipment and systems.
- Good communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment.
- Physical fitness and ability to perform duties in various weather conditions.
