This is a unique opportunity to lead and oversee all Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) activities for critical rail infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with local and international safety standards.

In this dynamic role, you will play a pivotal part in fostering a culture of safety, implementing robust EHS policies, and mitigating risks across railway construction and operational sites. Your expertise will directly contribute to protecting workers, minimizing environmental impact, and ensuring project success in one of Southeast Asia’s most rapidly developing regions.

Ideal for seasoned EHS professionals with a passion for railway safety, this contract position offers competitive compensation, exposure to high-impact projects, and the chance to work with a global leader in workforce solutions.

Responsibility

  • Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive EHS management systems tailored to railway projects, ensuring alignment with Indonesian regulations (e.g., Permenaker) and international standards (ISO 45001, OHSAS 18001).
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, hazard identification, and safety audits on railway construction sites, tracks, and operational facilities.
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action plans to prevent recurrence and improve safety protocols.
  • Deliver EHS training programs for employees, contractors, and stakeholders, covering railway-specific risks (e.g., track safety, electrical hazards, heavy machinery).
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and government agencies to integrate safety requirements into project planning and execution.
  • Oversee the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures, including first aid and evacuation drills.
  • Maintain accurate EHS documentation, including permits, inspection reports, and compliance records for audits and regulatory submissions.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks, safety campaigns, and performance metrics tracking.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Certified WSHO or equivalent (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) is a must.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in EHS roles, with at least 2 years specializing in railway, construction, or heavy infrastructure projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of Indonesian EHS regulations (e.g., UU No. 1/1970, Permenaker No. 5/2018) and international standards (ISO, OSHA).
  • Proven track record in developing EHS policies, conducting audits, and managing incident investigations.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills to influence stakeholders at all levels, including government bodies and senior management.
  • Familiarity with railway safety protocols, including track access, signaling, and electrification hazards.
  • Proficiency in EHS software (e.g., Intelex, SAP EHS) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites across Bali and adhere to flexible work schedules as needed.
