Join United Overseas Bank as the VP of Financial Crime Risk Management and lead our efforts in safeguarding the financial system from illicit activities. Responsibility
- Develop and implement comprehensive financial crime risk management strategies aligned with regulatory requirements.
- Lead and mentor a team of risk management professionals to ensure effective monitoring and reporting of financial crime risks.
- Collaborate with senior management and stakeholders to enhance the bank's anti-money laundering (AML) and counter-terrorism financing (CTF) frameworks.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee the investigation of suspicious activities and ensure timely reporting to regulatory authorities.
- Drive the adoption of advanced technologies and data analytics to improve detection and prevention capabilities.
- Represent the bank in industry forums and regulatory discussions related to financial crime risk management.
- Ensure continuous training and awareness programs for staff on financial crime risks and compliance obligations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Law, or a related field; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CAMS, CFA) is a plus.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial crime risk management, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- In-depth knowledge of global AML/CTF regulations, including FATF, Basel Committee, and local regulatory requirements.
- Proven track record of developing and implementing effective risk management frameworks in a financial institution.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and trends.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Experience with risk management software and data analytics tools.
