Responsibility
- Process end-to-end Australian payroll for multiple clients using Xero Payroll and other relevant software.
- Ensure compliance with Australian tax laws, superannuation, and employment regulations (e.g., STP, PAYG, Super Guarantee).
- Accurately calculate wages, deductions, leave entitlements, and terminations in accordance with awards and enterprise agreements.
- Prepare and reconcile payroll reports, including monthly/quarterly BAS and annual payment summaries.
- Liaise with clients, accountants, and the ATO to resolve payroll-related queries and discrepancies.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and system updates.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure seamless integration of payroll data with general ledger systems.
- Provide exceptional service by addressing employee payroll inquiries promptly and professionally.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in Australian payroll processing, with expertise in Xero Payroll (mandatory).
- In-depth knowledge of Australian payroll compliance, including STP, PAYG, superannuation, and Fair Work regulations.
- Proven ability to manage high-volume payroll for multiple clients with 100% accuracy.
- Strong numerical and analytical skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills (required for client interactions).
- Certification in Australian Payroll (e.g., APA or equivalent) is a plus.
- Experience working in a remote or virtual team with self-discipline and time management skills.
- Familiarity with other payroll software (e.g., MYOB, KeyPay) is advantageous.
