Responsibility
- Lead and mentor a team of collections specialists, ensuring alignment with US and international collections standards and regulations.
- Develop and implement strategic collections processes to improve recovery rates and minimize delinquencies.
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics, providing actionable insights to senior management for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including finance, legal, and customer service, to streamline operations and resolve escalated issues.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) and other international regulations.
- Leverage technology and automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in collections workflows.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and providing transparent reporting on collections performance.
- Drive training and development initiatives to upskill team members and foster a culture of excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field; advanced degrees or certifications (e.g., CFA, CPA) are a plus.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role focusing on US or international markets.
- In-depth knowledge of US collections laws, regulations, and best practices, including FDCPA compliance.
- Proven ability to analyze financial data, identify trends, and develop data-driven strategies to improve collections performance.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to engage effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
- Proficiency in collections software, CRM systems, and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel for data analysis).
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting with a reliable internet connection and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
