Responsibility
- Maintain and update financial records, including general ledger entries, accounts payable/receivable, and bank reconciliations for US-based clients.
- Process invoices, expenses, and payments accurately and efficiently using accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero).
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensuring compliance with US accounting standards (GAAP).
- Reconcile bank statements and credit card transactions to ensure accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
- Assist in payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance with US tax regulations (e.g., 1099, W-9 forms).
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support decision-making.
- Monitor and track financial transactions, flagging irregularities or potential issues for review.
- Maintain organized digital filing systems for financial documents and records.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar role (2+ years preferred).
- Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
- Strong understanding of US accounting principles (GAAP) and basic tax compliance (e.g., sales tax, payroll tax).
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate financial records.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks in a remote work environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) for clear communication with US-based teams and clients.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience with payroll processing or familiarity with US payroll systems is a plus.
