Responsibility
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans for server hardware, including motherboards, power supplies, cooling systems, and network components to ensure compliance with industry standards and performance benchmarks.
- Collaborate with hardware engineers and firmware teams to identify, debug, and resolve hardware-related issues, ensuring seamless integration and functionality of server systems.
- Perform environmental stress testing (thermal, vibration, and power cycling) to validate the durability and reliability of data centre hardware under real-world conditions.
- Analyze test data, generate detailed reports, and provide actionable insights to improve product design, manufacturing processes, and overall system performance.
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to implement test automation solutions, reducing manual testing efforts and improving efficiency in production lines.
- Ensure compliance with industry certifications (e.g., ISO, UL, CE) and customer-specific requirements through rigorous testing and documentation.
- Support root cause analysis (RCA) for hardware failures, driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and reduce defect rates.
- Stay updated with emerging technologies in AI, cloud computing, and data centre infrastructure to recommend innovative testing methodologies and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in hardware testing, validation, or quality assurance, preferably in server, data centre, or high-performance computing environments.
- Hands-on experience with test equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, and thermal chambers.
- Proficiency in scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, LabVIEW, or similar) for test development and data analysis.
- Strong understanding of server architectures, networking protocols, and data centre infrastructure (e.g., RAID, IPMI, BMC, PCIe, NVMe).
- Familiarity with industry standards such as ATX, SSI, NEBS, and regulatory certifications (e.g., FCC, CE, UL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail and the ability to troubleshoot complex hardware issues.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate with global teams and present technical findings to stakeholders.
