Responsibility
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies before each procedure to ensure a sterile environment.
- Assist the surgical team by passing instruments, sponges, and other sterile supplies during operations.
- Anticipate the needs of surgeons and nurses by maintaining an organized and efficient OR setup.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of surgical supplies, ensuring availability of all necessary items.
- Apply aseptic techniques and adhere to strict infection control protocols to prevent contamination.
- Operate and troubleshoot surgical equipment, including lights, suction machines, and electrocautery devices.
- Assist in the preparation and draping of patients for surgery, ensuring proper positioning and safety.
- Collaborate with the OR team to ensure smooth patient transfers pre- and post-operation.
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or equivalent certification (e.g., CST, TS-C).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a Surgical Technician or in a similar OR support role.
- Strong knowledge of surgical instruments, procedures, and sterile techniques.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
- Certification in CPR/BLS (Basic Life Support) is required.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move equipment weighing up to 20-25 kg.
- Proficient in English (written and verbal) for clear communication with the surgical team.
- Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (e.g., HIPAA, OSHA) is a plus.
