Responsibility
- Oversee daily operations and maintenance activities of substation facilities to ensure optimal performance and compliance with industry standards.
- Lead and mentor a team of technicians, providing guidance on troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance tasks.
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and company policies.
- Monitor and analyze substation equipment performance, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
- Coordinate with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, upgrades, or emergency repairs.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety protocols, conducting regular inspections and risk assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment logs, and incident reports for auditing and reporting purposes.
- Collaborate with engineering and project teams to support substation upgrades, expansions, or new installations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in substation operations, maintenance, or electrical engineering, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of high-voltage equipment, protective relays, transformers, and SCADA systems.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage teams, delegate tasks, and foster a culture of safety and accountability.
- Familiarity with industry standards (e.g., IEEE, NEC) and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions under pressure.
- Proficiency in using maintenance management software and diagnostic tools.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
