Responsibility
- Oversee the daily operation and maintenance of substation equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and protective relays, to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and troubleshooting of electrical systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend the lifespan of substation assets.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute substation upgrades, expansions, and modifications in alignment with project timelines and safety standards.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols (e.g., IEC, IEEE, PUIL).
- Monitor and analyze substation performance data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide technical support and guidance to field technicians, contractors, and other stakeholders during installation, commissioning, and emergency response activities.
- Prepare detailed reports, documentation, and presentations for management, regulatory bodies, and clients, highlighting substation performance, incidents, and corrective actions.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems Engineering, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in substation engineering, maintenance, or operations, preferably in the renewable energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of substation equipment, including transformers, switchgear, protection systems, and SCADA.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and technical manuals.
- Familiarity with industry standards and regulations, such as IEC, IEEE, and local electrical codes (e.g., PUIL).
- Experience with substation automation systems, relay coordination, and fault analysis.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication skills in English, with the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Certifications in electrical safety (e.g., NFPA 70E, OSHA) or substation operations are a plus.
