Responsibility
- Architect and develop core security features for the Android platform, including kernel-level protections, secure boot, and hardware-backed security modules.
- Lead threat modeling and risk assessments to proactively identify vulnerabilities in Androidâs trust chain.
- Collaborate with Googleâs security research teams to integrate cutting-edge defenses against zero-day exploits.
- Optimize performance and scalability of security systems without compromising user experience.
- Mentor junior engineers and drive best practices in secure coding, code reviews, and incident response.
- Partner with OEMs and chipset vendors to ensure security standards are met across diverse Android devices.
- Contribute to open-source security projects and represent Google at industry conferences (e.g., Black Hat, DEF CON).
- Monitor and analyze global security trends to anticipate and mitigate emerging threats.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of software engineering experience, with at least 4 years specializing in security (mobile, OS, or embedded systems).
- Expertise in C/C++, Rust, or Java/Kotlin with a focus on low-level systems programming.
- Deep understanding of Android internals (AOSP, SELinux, TrustZone, Keystore, or Verified Boot).
- Proven track record of designing secure architectures and mitigating complex vulnerabilities.
- Experience with cryptography, authentication protocols (e.g., OAuth, FIDO), or secure hardware (e.g., TPM, HSM).
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug intricate security issues at scale.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field (or equivalent experience).
