Responsibility
- Prepare and maintain the operating room (OR) by ensuring all surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterilized, organized, and readily available.
- Assist surgeons during procedures by anticipating needs, passing instruments, and managing surgical tools with precision.
- Monitor and maintain a sterile field throughout operations to prevent infections and ensure patient safety.
- Collaborate with the surgical team, including anesthetists and circulating nurses, to coordinate seamless perioperative care.
- Conduct pre- and post-operative patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and recovery monitoring.
- Document all surgical procedures, patient responses, and care provided in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Educate patients and families on pre- and post-operative care, procedures, and recovery expectations.
- Adhere to strict infection control protocols and healthcare standards to uphold the highest level of patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid Singapore Nursing Board (SNB) Registration as a Registered Nurse.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a Scrub Nurse or Operating Theatre (OT) Nurse in a hospital or surgical center.
- Proven expertise in surgical instrumentation, sterile techniques, and perioperative patient care.
- Strong knowledge of aseptic practices, infection control, and OR protocols.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Ability to work in fast-paced, high-pressure environments with attention to detail and composure.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is a plus.
- Fluency in English; additional languages (e.g., Indonesian, Mandarin) are advantageous.
