Responsibility
- Provide one-on-one and small-group instruction to students with special needs, tailoring lessons to their individual learning styles and abilities.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt curriculum materials and teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in consultation with parents, teachers, and other specialists.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback to parents and school administrators.
- Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.
- Assist students with daily activities and routines, ensuring their safety and well-being at all times.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay updated on best practices in special education.
- Work closely with school counselors, therapists, and other support staff to provide comprehensive care for students.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Special Education, Psychology, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Previous experience working with students with special needs, preferably in an inclusive or special education setting.
- Strong understanding of various disabilities and learning differences, including autism, ADHD, and intellectual disabilities.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for helping students with special needs achieve their full potential.
- Familiarity with assistive technologies and adaptive teaching methods.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and adapt to the unique needs of each student.
- Certification in special education or related fields is highly desirable.
