Responsibility
- Assist lead teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with special needs.
- Provide one-on-one or small-group support to students in academic, social, and behavioral development.
- Collaborate with speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to integrate therapeutic goals into classroom activities.
- Monitor and document student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
- Adapt teaching materials and resources to meet the diverse learning styles and abilities of students.
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student engagement and participation.
- Assist with classroom management and ensure a safe, structured setting for all students.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance skills in special education.
Qualifications
- Diploma or degree in Education, Special Education, Psychology, or a related field.
- Previous experience working with children with special needs, either in educational or therapeutic settings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with students, parents, and educators.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting students with diverse learning needs.
- Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) and adapt teaching strategies as required.
- Basic knowledge of behavioral management techniques and positive reinforcement strategies.
- Fluency in English; additional language skills (e.g., Bahasa Indonesia) are a plus.
- Willingness to undergo training and professional development in special education practices.
