Responsibility

  • Lead and supervise the daily operations of the pastry kitchen, ensuring all pastry and bakery items are prepared to Aman’s exacting quality standards.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Chef to develop and refine pastry menus, incorporating seasonal ingredients and innovative techniques.
  • Oversee the preparation, presentation, and timely delivery of all desserts, pastries, and bread for restaurant service, banquets, and special events.
  • Train, mentor, and evaluate junior pastry chefs and kitchen staff to maintain high performance and consistency.
  • Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards in compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and control costs to optimize kitchen efficiency and minimize waste.
  • Stay updated on global pastry trends and techniques to continuously elevate the resort’s pastry offerings.
  • Assist in planning and executing special culinary events, themed dinners, and guest experiences.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as a Pastry Chef or Sous Chef Pastry in a luxury hotel, resort, or high-end restaurant.
  • Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Pastry Arts, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • Proven expertise in classical and contemporary pastry techniques, including plated desserts, artisan bread, and chocolate work.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a team in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food safety, HACCP, and hygiene standards.
  • Creative mindset with a passion for innovation and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
  • Fluency in English; additional languages are a plus.
