Responsibility
- Assist the Head Chef in managing daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth service and high-quality dishes.
- Supervise and mentor junior kitchen staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Oversee food preparation, cooking, and plating to maintain consistent standards and presentation.
- Monitor inventory levels, place orders, and manage stock to minimize waste and control costs.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation regulations at all times.
- Develop and refine menu items in collaboration with the Head Chef, incorporating local flavors and seasonal ingredients.
- Handle staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to maintain a high-performing team.
- Step in for the Head Chef during absences, ensuring continuity in kitchen leadership and operations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or similar role in a high-volume kitchen.
- Culinary degree or certification from a recognized institution is a plus.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide a diverse team.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and kitchen best practices.
- Creative mindset with a passion for innovative and high-quality cuisine.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure.
- Familiarity with Indonesian and international cuisines is an advantage.
