Responsibility
- Develop, optimize, and maintain SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes to improve production efficiency and product quality.
- Conduct root cause analysis for process deviations and implement corrective actions to minimize defects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality Assurance, Production) to enhance manufacturing workflows.
- Design and execute process validation protocols, including DOE (Design of Experiments) and statistical analysis.
- Monitor and analyze SMT equipment performance, recommending upgrades or modifications as needed.
- Train and mentor production staff on SMT best practices, troubleshooting, and equipment operation.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies in SMT to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure compliance with ISO, IPC, and other relevant manufacturing standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in SMT process engineering, preferably in precision manufacturing or electronics.
- Strong knowledge of SMT equipment (e.g., pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems) and process parameters.
- Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Experience with process validation, DOE, and failure analysis in a high-volume production environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, ISO 9001, or other industry standards is a plus.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate across departments.
