Responsibility
- Lead the development, optimization, and maintenance of SMT (Surface Mount Technology) processes to ensure high yield, efficiency, and product quality.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering Manager to align SMT operations with company goals and industry best practices.
- Design and implement process improvements, including stencil design, solder paste printing, pick-and-place programming, and reflow profiling.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for SMT-related defects and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime and scrap.
- Train and mentor production teams on SMT equipment operation, troubleshooting, and quality control standards.
- Evaluate and integrate new SMT technologies and materials to enhance performance and reduce costs.
- Ensure compliance with IPC standards, ISO 9001, and customer-specific requirements for electronics assembly.
- Generate and maintain documentation, including work instructions, process flow diagrams, and technical reports.
Qualifications
- Bachelorâs degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of hands-on experience in SMT process engineering within electronics manufacturing (PCBA preferred).
- Proficiency in SMT equipment (e.g., screen printers, pick-and-place machines, reflow ovens, AOI systems).
- Strong knowledge of DFM (Design for Manufacturability) and DFT (Design for Testability) principles.
- Experience with statistical process control (SPC), Six Sigma, or Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
- Familiarity with IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, and IPC-TM-650 standards.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills in English.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-volume production environment with minimal supervision.
