Responsibility
- Conduct comprehensive polysomnography (sleep studies) including setup, monitoring, and scoring of physiological data such as EEG, EOG, EMG, and respiratory parameters.
- Operate and maintain sleep diagnostic equipment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
- Provide patient education on sleep disorders, treatment options, and the importance of sleep hygiene.
- Collaborate with physicians to interpret sleep study results and develop personalized treatment plans.
- Supervise and mentor sleep center staff, including technicians and support personnel, to ensure high-quality care.
- Adhere to AASM (American Academy of Sleep Medicine) guidelines and protocols for sleep testing and patient care.
- Maintain detailed and confidential patient records in compliance with healthcare regulations.
- Participate in continuous professional development to stay updated on advancements in sleep medicine.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Respiratory Therapy, Polysomnography, or a related healthcare field (or equivalent certification).
- Certification as a Registered Polysomnographic Technologist (RPSGT) or Certified Clinical Sleep Health Educator (CCSH) is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sleep Technologist or in a similar role.
- Proficiency in operating polysomnography equipment and interpreting sleep study data.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with patients and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work night shifts and flexible hours as required by sleep study schedules.
- Knowledge of AASM scoring criteria and sleep disorder classifications.
- Familiarity with EHR (Electronic Health Records) systems and healthcare compliance standards.
