Responsibility
- Develop and execute high-quality pastry, dessert, and baked goods menus aligned with brand standards and seasonal trends.
- Oversee daily pastry production, including mixing, baking, decorating, and plating, ensuring consistency and excellence.
- Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain cost control while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Collaborate with the culinary team to create cohesive dining experiences, including dessert pairings for special events.
- Train, mentor, and supervise junior pastry staff, fostering a culture of creativity and precision.
- Innovate new recipes and techniques to enhance menu offerings and guest satisfaction.
- Monitor kitchen equipment and tools, ensuring proper maintenance and functionality.
- Participate in menu planning, tastings, and quality assessments to uphold exceptional standards.
Qualifications
- Proven experience (2+ years) as a Pastry Chef or in a hot kitchen environment, preferably in luxury hotels or fine-dining establishments.
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, ingredient properties, and pastry arts (e.g., French, modern, or artisanal styles).
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume setting while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills to manage a team and collaborate with other departments.
- Certification in culinary arts, pastry, or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with HACCP, food safety standards, and local health regulations.
- Creativity and a passion for staying updated on global pastry trends.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
