Responsibility
- Perform routine and preventive maintenance on timber processing machinery and equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues and implement effective repair solutions.
- Install, align, and commission new machinery and equipment according to technical specifications.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify potential faults and proactively address maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, parts usage, and downtime reports.
- Collaborate with production teams to troubleshoot equipment failures and minimize operational disruptions.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Assist in the training of junior technicians and provide technical guidance as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Fitter, Mechanic, or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulic and pneumatic components, and industrial machinery.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as diagnostic equipment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Certification in mechanical fitting, industrial maintenance, or a related field is a plus.
- Familiarity with timber or wood processing equipment is highly advantageous.
