Responsibility
- Perform routine inspections, diagnostics, and repairs on waste collection vehicles and equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems to identify and resolve issues.
- Replace or repair damaged parts, including engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and parts used for compliance and tracking.
- Collaborate with the operations team to prioritize maintenance schedules based on vehicle usage.
- Ensure all vehicles meet safety and environmental regulations, including emissions standards.
- Assist in emergency roadside repairs and breakdowns as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as an Automotive Mechanic, preferably with heavy-duty or commercial vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and vehicle diagnostics.
- Certification from a recognized automotive or technical institution is a plus.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment (e.g., OBD scanners, multimeters).
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic computer skills for maintaining digital maintenance logs.
