As a senior engineer, you will design, implement, and optimize high-availability server and virtualization solutions, ensuring seamless performance for critical banking applications. Responsibility
- Design, deploy, and manage Windows Server (Wintel) and Linux environments in enterprise banking infrastructure.
- Administer and optimize VMware vSphere/ESXi virtualization platforms, including clustering, HA, and DRS configurations.
- Ensure high availability, performance tuning, and disaster recovery for critical banking systems.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting (PowerShell, Bash, Python) to improve efficiency and reduce downtime.
- Monitor system health, troubleshoot complex issues, and implement proactive maintenance to prevent outages.
- Collaborate with security teams to harden servers, apply patches, and comply with banking industry standards (e.g., PCI-DSS, ISO 27001).
- Lead infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and capacity planning to support business growth.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and document system architectures, procedures, and best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience as a Systems/Infrastructure Engineer, with expertise in Wintel, Linux (RHEL/CentOS), and VMware.
- Proven track record in managing enterprise-grade virtualization environments (VMware vCenter, vSAN, NSX).
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Windows/Linux security hardening.
- Experience with storage systems (SAN/NAS), networking, and backup/recovery solutions.
- Certifications such as VCIX, VCP, MCSE, or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) are highly advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a 24/7 banking environment.
- Fluency in English (written and verbal) and strong communication skills for cross-team collaboration.
