Responsibility
- Serve as the primary owner and technical expert for Thin Film PVD equipment, ensuring optimal performance and reliability
- Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for PVD systems to maximize uptime and equipment efficiency
- Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and lead root cause analysis for process deviations or equipment failures
- Collaborate with process engineering teams to optimize PVD processes for yield improvement and cost reduction
- Manage equipment upgrades, modifications, and new tool installations to support technology roadmaps
- Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on PVD equipment operation and maintenance
- Develop and maintain comprehensive equipment documentation including SOPs, specifications, and troubleshooting guides
- Participate in cross-functional teams to drive continuous improvement initiatives and implement best practices
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and environmental regulations in all equipment-related activities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in semiconductor equipment engineering with at least 3 years specifically in PVD equipment ownership
- Proven expertise in Physical Vapor Deposition (PVD) processes and equipment (sputtering, evaporation, etc.)
- Strong technical knowledge of vacuum systems, gas delivery, and thin film deposition technologies
- Experience with equipment automation, control systems, and data analysis tools
- Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing processes and fab operations
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills with ability to interface effectively with cross-functional teams
- Experience with equipment performance metrics and continuous improvement methodologies
- Certification in equipment maintenance or semiconductor processing is a plus
