Responsibility
- Design, implement, and maintain z/OS CICS environments to support enterprise-level operations.
- Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimizations to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development and operations teams to integrate and deploy applications within the z/OS ecosystem.
- Develop and enforce security protocols, compliance standards, and disaster recovery plans for z/OS systems.
- Troubleshoot complex technical issues, providing timely resolutions to minimize downtime.
- Automate routine tasks and processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance to foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in z/OS and CICS technologies, recommending upgrades and improvements as needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in z/OS CICS administration and support.
- Strong knowledge of z/OS architecture, CICS transaction processing, and related subsystems.
- Experience with system monitoring tools, performance tuning, and capacity planning.
- Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., REXX, JCL) and automation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Certified System Administrator - z/OS) are a plus.
