As a Steam Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, operation, maintenance, and optimization of high-pressure steam systems, boilers, and associated equipment. Responsibility
- Design, operate, and maintain high-pressure steam systems, boilers, and auxiliary equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Monitor and analyze steam system performance, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to steam generation, distribution, and utilization in cement production processes.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety and environmental regulations, including OSHA and ISO standards.
- Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to align steam system operations with production goals and schedules.
- Prepare technical reports, documentation, and presentations for management and stakeholders.
- Mentor and train junior engineers and technical staff on steam system operations and best practices.
- Participate in capital projects, including the installation and commissioning of new steam-related equipment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in steam system engineering, preferably in the cement, power generation, or heavy manufacturing industry.
- Proficiency in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer principles as applied to steam systems.
- Hands-on experience with boiler operations, steam turbines, heat exchangers, and pressure vessels.
- Strong knowledge of safety standards and regulations, including OSHA, ASME, and local Indonesian industrial codes.
- Experience with process control systems (DCS, PLC) and data analysis tools for performance monitoring.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Fluency in English; proficiency in Bahasa Indonesia is a plus.
- Certifications such as Certified Steam System Specialist (CSSS) or Boiler Operator License are highly desirable.
