Responsibility
- Architect & Scale: Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines, warehouses, and lakes to support enterprise-level analytics.
- Automate & Optimize: Develop automated workflows to enhance data processing efficiency, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
- Data Governance: Implement best practices for data quality, security, and compliance (e.g., GDPR, SOC2).
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Partner with data scientists, analysts, and product teams to deliver actionable insights.
- Cloud Innovation: Leverage AWS, GCP, or Azure to deploy cloud-native data solutions (e.g., Redshift, BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize query performance, storage, and resource allocation.
- Mentorship: Guide junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Emerging Tech: Research and integrate new tools/technologies (e.g., Kafka, Spark, dbt) to future-proof our stack.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role, with a focus on large-scale data systems.
- Expertise in SQL, Python, or Scala and frameworks like Apache Spark, Airflow, or Beam.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and data warehousing (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines, data modeling (dimensional, star schema), and real-time processing.
- Proven ability to design fault-tolerant, high-availability systems with monitoring (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Ansible).
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices for data engineering.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset in Agile/Scrum environments.
