Responsibility
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and infrastructure for Google’s global payments platform.
- Optimize data processing systems for high availability, low latency, and fault tolerance.
- Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to define and implement data models and APIs.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations, security standards, and data privacy laws (e.g., PCI-DSS, GDPR).
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
- Lead technical discussions and mentor junior engineers to foster a culture of excellence.
- Drive innovation by researching and adopting emerging technologies in data engineering and fintech.
- Document architectures, workflows, and best practices for internal and external stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in software engineering, with a focus on data platforms, distributed systems, or payments infrastructure.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, Go, or C++.
- Strong expertise in big data technologies (e.g., Apache Beam, Spark, Kafka, Flink) and cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure).
- Experience with database systems (SQL, NoSQL) and data warehousing solutions (BigQuery, Snowflake).
- Familiarity with financial systems, payment processing, or fintech is a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
