Responsibility
- Oversee daily vessel operations, including scheduling, routing, and compliance with international maritime regulations.
- Coordinate with port authorities, shipping agents, and crew to ensure timely departures and arrivals.
- Monitor cargo loading/unloading processes to optimize efficiency and prevent delays.
- Maintain accurate logs, reports, and documentation for regulatory and internal audits.
- Liaise with clients, brokers, and stakeholders to resolve operational challenges and enhance service delivery.
- Implement safety protocols and emergency procedures to mitigate risks at sea and in port.
- Analyze performance metrics to identify cost-saving opportunities and operational improvements.
- Mentor junior operators and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline logistics workflows.
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Ship Operator, Vessel Coordinator, or in a similar maritime logistics role.
- In-depth knowledge of international shipping regulations (IMO, SOLAS, ISPS) and port operations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple vessels, schedules, and stakeholders under tight deadlines.
- Strong proficiency in maritime software (e.g., SeaRates, FleetMon, or similar) and MS Office Suite.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English (written and verbal).
- Bachelor’s degree in Maritime Studies, Logistics, or related field; STCW certification is a plus.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends/holidays, to support 24/7 operations.
- Demonstrated leadership in crisis management and problem-solving in high-pressure environments.
